Green Tea and Cherries

(Click Here to Bid)     6x6in  oil on panel   (bid starts at $100)

It is amazing that no matter how many times I paint I am always intimidated in the first hour. How to capture the light how to see the different patterns and reflections. Then once I resign myself to making one mark at a time, one moment of understanding at a time then the whole thing comes together like magic.    MG

Day of Dalias

Click Here to Bid                     (6x6" bid starts at $100)

The Quote that comes to mind is:"Color is Beauty but contrast is Sublime".
The purple spaces between the the marks of yellow are as important as the
petals themselves.

Tea and Cherries

(click here to bid)   "Tea and Cherries" (6x6" bid starts at $100 )

Well I am finally slowing my hand and eyes down.
I am starting see the subtle shifts of light and color.
Loving the quiet of a small piece.
I got some smaller brushes and now it doesn't feel like
I am painting with a shovel in a small room.

Hope you enjoy this sweet return to cherries.

Lemon and Purple

(Click Here to Bid)   6x6 Oil on Gesso Board

Ok today was a nutty day.
But painting this cherry and lemon on a vibrant purple cloth was my zen moment.
Yellow against purple just sings for me.
Music playing, coffee in hand...and painting.
This small format is harder to work than a 5 ft x 5ft painting as
it demands  for the whole piece to work this is no room for
ambiguity....hmmm i am sure I will sneak some ambiguity soon.
