Cheerful Cherries

This bowl of cherries was painted on a winter day indoors. I was drinking a hot cup of tea and milk.
I love the reflective light that bounces the yellow off the table cloth onto the cherries and the cup.
Very joyful little moment. Yellows, red and oranges are good colors to cheer up any day!

French Sunflowers

Sunflowers make me think of Provence, France. The fields of yellow sunflowers were planted next to fields of purple lavendar. Perfection. Love the way they turn to look at the sun. Tournesol in French ...means turn to the sun. They are even beautiful when they are droopy and dried out , when they have lost all their color in the winter with nothing to show but a sharp silhouette.

California Camelia

A California Camelia growing on a bush outside my door.

I have been hiking two miles everyday with a back pack of

paints on a quest to capture the light and paint on the top of

a mountain. This was a small and perfect example of the simple beauty found in CA.

Today I did my new year cleaning of my studio.

So I took all paintings off the walls,   I scrubbed the floors. Threw away bags of junk.

As many of you know I love to have Bare  White Walls to start the year fresh.

I will share with you my studio paintings at a ridiculously reduced price.
This painting has a whole lot of texture and layers and scraping, painting and drawing.

I love finding new homes for my work rather than let it gather dust on my shelves.

The way I see it is ....the more work that is sold , the more work I make.
The more work that  I make the more I learn....This seems like a win win situation for all!.

Ahh the beauty of  a white canvas awaiting its  future!    MG
